Help! Did you have the same experience?

The other day I popped in this movie at my friends house called RENT not knowing what to expect, and within the first minute I wanted to slit my own throat with a spork and gargle with bleach. Did anyone else have this same experience? Ofcourse I didn't watch more than that but why did this movie make me hate theatre people? HELP!
