Why are some women attracted to the bad boy rock star type?

Why are some women attracted to the bad boy rock star type? I can understand if she's a young teenager to early 20's being atttracted to that type, but when a woman gets older into her 30's and 40's and is still attracted to that type, isn't there something wrong there? I mean, do they enjoy misery and abuse? Do they enjoy getting in trouble with the law? Is it because they never grew up? I see these type of women when I go to the local bar and it really boggles my mind. I'm a nice guy and have always been. I really used to be confused when I was younger of why girls were attracted to the rock star bad boys, but I understand why there were like that. I think to myself, aren't women suppose to mature when they get to their 30's and 40's?
