Why do women adore male celebrities that are below average looking or pretty fugly....?

There are so many male celebrities that are below average, but women still adore them! Why is this? I mean if he was not famous, women would feel different wouldn't they? I agree that someone like Enrique Inglesias is a good looking guy, and this is coming from a 100% straight guy. But, What about all the other less attractive guys?
