Why is it when people get to an advanced level they act like they have arrived?

Chin up!! I am a nuses aide and I know where you are coming from there will always be levels no matter what career you choose. I find those that think themselves better than others if they have a higher title or position are really only insecure within themselves and strive for greater acceptance from" like people".If one is comfortable with what they choose to do and put 100% of there heart into it they are the happiest and gain the respect of their co-workers and family. It`s too bad your cousin sees life this way but some people need to fill a very deep void within themselves through abusing those who are close to them.A doctor once said to me "I would rather discuss a patient with an LPN or Nurses aide rather than an RN for the Rn`s want the LPN`s and Nurses aides to do all the dirty work this in turn gives the LPN`s and Nurses aides a closer bond with the patient and better essment skills for the patient.Where as the RN`s think they know the patient but really only the medication aspect of them". I`m not bashing all RN`s just the ones who think they are there for administering medications only. I`ve worked in this field for 15 years and love what I do and I`ve worked with some outstanding nurses who believe patient care and medications go hand in hand, and I`ve worked with nurses who think they are above cleaning up a patient and medications are the most important part of their job.I believe in team work and our team consists of all who work on our floor from housekeeping right up to management, sad that it is most of the RN`s didn`t even know the names of our housekeepers! I know this for I asked them and some have actually realized how petty they were and are now friends with all team members!! And have realized their value. My father always said "you are no better than anyone else and no one else is any better than you. You each just may be better at something the other is not"
